Homeland Security Summit
Friday, September 8, 2006

The University of Phoenix Homeland Security Summit featured the following experts and touched on topics related to preparedness and prevention.

Gary Winuk, Chief Deputy Director of the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security (OHS), discussed his task for coordinating all State homeland security efforts.

Dr. Richard Breitmeyer, California State Veterinarian, presented information about homeland security with regard to animal and food-borne agroterrorism issues.

Art Acevedo is a chief with the California Highway Patrol. He spoke about the issues with keeping our States transportation system and travelers safe.

Dr. Warren Washington, Director of Academic Affairs for the University of Phoenix Southern California Campus, spoke on educational opportunities for careers in law enforcement and criminal justice.
